Just because it’s no longer summer doesn’t mean it’s not grilling season. It’s ALWAYS grilling season in my house. Especially, when I’m craving this deliciously crispy Grilled Romaine Salad.
I believe the best recipes are made from creativity. No specific measurements or detailed cooking instructions needed. That’s why I love this recipe. It is simple, has few ingredients and doesn’t require you to be a expert chef in the kitchen or on the grill. Good recipes don’t have to be complicated!
I am a big fan of grilling lettuce. In the past I posted a recipe for Grilled Sesame Bok Choy that is out of this world. It just goes to show you that switching up your usual salad recipes can be a good thing. If you are bored with the same old garden salad, try this Grilled Romaine Salad as a side dish for you next family meal.
Start by slicing 2 heads of romaine lettuce in half. Drizzle each side of the lettuce with olive oil and top with a dash of salt & pepper.
Once your grill is hot, cook the lettuce for approximately 5 minutes on each side or until you have desired grill marks.
When you are finished cooking, remove the lettuce from your grill. You can either leave the lettuce as is and have each person cut their own head as they eat, or chop everything up and throw it in a big bowl. Top with shredded parmesan cheese, if desired.
Trust me, you will be glad you didn’t put your grills away once you try this Grilled Romaine Salad.
