Since summer is sadly coming to an end, now is the time to prepare for busy days by stocking up on a few healthy snacks. Below is a list of some of my go-to favorites. They are perfect to keep handy in your dorm room, backpack, or gym bag. Being prepared with healthy snack options is the best way to stay fit when running from class to class or job to job.
Tapaz 2 Go– This portable snack pack of hummus and lentil crackers is a convenient, guilt-free snack everyone can enjoy. Hummus is one of my favorite snacks in the world! Not only is this portable pack easy to grab on the go, but requires no refrigeration. How can eating healthy be any easier? Stock up your dorm room with plenty of these!
Fage Greek Yogurt– Greek Yogurt is a great well rounded snack when you are running from class to class. It includes protein to aid in muscle growth and repairing tissue, probiotics to keep you regular, and calcium to help build strong, dense bones. I prefer the Total 0% flavor because it gives you such a full, creamy taste, but has zero grams of fat. You don’t have to worry about a ton of added sugar from fruit purees or other added flavors. A 6oz. container of Fage Total 0%, contains only 100 calories, 18 grams of protein, and 7 grams of carbohydrates.
Justin’s Peanut Butter– I always like to keep one of these natural peanut butter packs handy. It is the perfect on the go protein for a busy student. Spread some onto crackers, fruit or veggies and enjoy a well rounded snack. 8 grams of protein and less than 200 calories per pack.
Kind Healthy Grains Bars– I can’t get enough of Kind Bars! There are so many different flavors and types of bars for whatever mood you are in. These Healthy Grains Bars are full of ingredients that are great for a busy body. Fiber, antioxidants, and protein are combined into the perfect little snack. Not only are they non-GMO but they are gluten free too!
Sahale Nut Mixes– These premium nut mixes are delicious. They are great to keep in your backpack or dorm room for a quick pick me up. The flavors created by Sahale are always unique and satisfying. You will never feel the urge to reach for a candy bar, or bag of potato chips. Who wouldn’t want to snack on Vanilla Almonds with Cranberries, Berry Macaroon Almond Mix, or a Raspberry Crumble Cashew Mix?
Laughing Cow Creamy Light Swiss– There are so many different snacking options with The Laughing Cow cheese wedges. You can spread it on crackers, vegetables, or just eat it as is. There is no wrong way to eat it! One wedge only has 35 calories, 1.5 grams of fat, and 1 gram of carbohydrates.
The Better Chip Spinach and Kale Corn Chips– These chips are a delicious & healthy option when snacking. They are naturally gluten free, no preservatives, and vegan friendly. If you are ever in the mood for grabbing a bag of chips to snack on, this is the one to get!
