Make your own homemade potato chips, baked with a hint of olive oil and salt & pepper. No fryer needed for this healthy version!
Finding delicious healthy snacks can be hard, but this clean recipe tried and tested by yours truly, is the way to go! A few tips to remember, are to cut the potatoes as thin as possible (I like to use a mandolin slicer) then soak in water. I often drain the bowl after about 30 minutes, then soak in new clean water. You will see the water become milky white, which is the starchiness leaving the chips. After you remove most of the starch from the chips, lay them out flat on a paper towel and let them dry as much as possible. The drier they are before they go into the oven, the crispier the chips will become. If the slices are still wet when baking, they will end up “steaming” in the oven, more than “baking.” This results in a soft, chewy potato chip. Which no one really likes, am I right? The crispier the better!
