It’s sad to say, but I have been in a cooking slump lately. With a new baby and another going through the “terrible twos”, cooking has just not been my top priority. Luckily, these past few weeks I’ve had the help of my parents to do most of the dinner time preparations. They have been a BIG help!
Not having to stress about making a complete and healthy meal is my goal. All I have time (and energy) for right now is making some grilled chicken or fish and slicing up a piece of fruit. I don’t even attempt to make any complicated side dishes at this point. Which is why this review is perfect timing!
Recently, I was given the opportunity to try out the new Sweet Kale Salad Kit by Eat Smart. This nutrient-dense salad is my new favorite dish. It is the perfect side option for anyone looking for a change from the usual garden salad.
If I were asked to recreate this salad on my own…I wouldn’t even attempt it. There are so many different flavors and textures, I would hate to go buy every single ingredient included. Each perfectly packed kit has a blend of seven superfoods: kale, green cabbage, broccoli, Brussels sprouts, chicory, roasted pumpkin seeds and dried cranberries. All topped with a yummy poppy seed dressing.
Honestly, how fresh and clean do these ingredients look?! I love it!
The Sweet Kale Salad Kit is 100% Clean Label. Which means there are no artificial colors, flavors, or preservatives. As a matter of fact, Eat Smart is the first brand within its category to commit to clean ingredients and labeling, with plans for all products to contain a “100% Clean Label” by the end of next year!

I’m pretty sure you can’t find a salad as delicious and easy to make as this one!
Simply start by opening the package and placing the greens in a large salad bowl. Next, top the salad with the individual package of seeds and dried cranberries. (I like to wait to add the dressing until I am ready to serve, so that the salad doesn’t get too soft or wilted.)
When you are ready to eat, toss the salad with the dressing and serve. I personally love that there is just the right amount of dressing. Not too much, so it’s all you taste…but just enough to get the creamy poppyseed flavor.
We all need to incorporate more of these convenient and healthy eating options. Especially for those of us too busy to make one from scratch!
