Cool, creamy Greek yogurt, topped with spicy, crispy scallions....need I say more?
If you are looking for a healthy dip, look no further than yogurt based dips. They are nutritious, light and SUPER flavorful.
In addition to this Fried Scallion Dip, I recently made a Greek Yogurt French Onion Dip that was just as delicious and addicting.
Both recipes come together in a few quick minutes, and are great alternatives to your usual "party" dips.
What ingredients do I need?
What I love about this dip is that there is nothing too crazy needed. Just some simple tasty (and natural) ingredients.
- Greek yogurt - 0% plain
- Olive oil
- Lemon
- Scallions
- Red pepper flakes
- Sea salt
- Cracked black pepper
Aside from the fact that this recipe is soooo easy to make, it is also packed with protein...and not to mention flavor!
How do I make Fried Scallion Dip?
Step 1: In a bowl, stir together yogurt, salt, pepper and the juice of 1 lemon. Set aside for now.
Step 2: In a skillet, begin to heat olive oil. Chop the scallions, then add them to the hot oil. Continue to simmer for 3-4 minutes, or until slightly brown and crispy. Turn off heat, stir in red pepper flakes.
Step 3: Spread yogurt in a shallow bowl or plate. Top with fried scallions. Serve with crackers or pita chips.
In addition to being perfect with pita, veggies or crackers and you can also use this Fried Scallion Dip as a creamy sauce for fish, chicken or beef!
