Want to make sure your healthy habits stay strong throughout the year? One way is to incorporate foods that help speed up your metabolism.  With the help of the new and delicious Campbell's Well Yes!™ Soup products found at Walmart, adding these boosting foods to your diet is now easier than ever.

Keep your healthy habits stay strong all year by incorporating foods that help speed up your metabolism.

Warning, I'm going to get scientific for a little bit.  But it's all for you to better understand metabolism and how eating healthier can help you and your family stay on track with your "new you" goals.

Metabolism involves two processes called catabolism and anabolism.  Catabolism is the breaking down of food substances like carbohydrates, fats and proteins into simpler forms which are later used for energy.  Anabolism deals with the use of energy produced by the catabolic process.  It also involves storing energy for future use.

Over the years, your metabolism can slow down or just stop working.  This can be due to hormone deficiency, diseases of the endocrine system, or the following:

    • Gender: Women tend to have a lower metabolism than men due to body composition and weight.
    • Nutrition: Nutrition deficiency can decrease the rate of metabolism.
    • Age: Metabolism can decrease with increasing age due to loss of lean muscles.
    • Hormones: Changes in hormones can cause both the increase and decrease of metabolism.
    • Stress / Emotions: Stress and other emotions may also affect your metabolism.

A great way to help rev your metabolism, is to incorporate specific foods into your diet.

Below I have compiled a list of some of the top recommended metabolism boosting foods for your reference:

(Please note I am not advising anyone to over consume these items. In addition, none of the advice given on this website is to be considered as medical advice. Please do not make any changes to your lifestyle or diet without discussing it with your doctor.)

    • Broccoli
    • Asparagus
    • Beans
    • Sweet Potatoes

Personally, one of my favorite ways to add these foods into my weekly meal plan, is to enjoy a bowl of Campbell's Well Yes!™ Soup.  They are made with nutritious ingredients, no artificial colors, flavors or ingredients, non-BPA lining and no preservatives.

Two of my go-to Campbell's Well Yes!™ flavors are the Roasted Chicken with Wild Rice (contains corn, carrots, sweet potatoes, and chicken meat with no antibiotics) and the Italian Vegetable with Farro (contains beans, zucchini & fennel; ½ cup veggies; vegan).  Each can of soup is 2 servings, which is perfect for my husband and I to enjoy along with a salad.

If you are someone with a naturally fast metabolism, then you are one of the lucky ones!  But if you inherited your dads’ insanely slow metabolism, just know that you’re not stuck with it.  Try adding some of these metabolism boosting foods along with a safe fitness routine and you may see results faster than you think.
