I received these products free from The Bar Shack. I was not required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are 100% my own.
Raise your hand if you have ever been hungry, but nothing seems to hit the spot. This is often a major dilemma in my house.
Maybe you want a little something with chocolate, coconut and almond butter. Or better yet, something with chia seeds, cocoa nibs and sea salt. Is it too hard to ask for someone to just create what you have in mind, so you don't have to do all the cooking and cleaning?
Not anymore! I recently came across a company called The Bar Shack, where they create a protein bar with whatever crazy combination you can dream up (with their list of provided ingredients) and mail it to you. How awesome is that?! Talk about a life saver.
Here's How It Works:
They offer 3 different types of bars. The Original Protein Bar, Gourmet Protein Bar, and a "Cheat Day" Dessert Protein Bar. Once you choose the type of bar you want, you then get to decide on the texture of the bar. Whether that be "Soft & Datey", "Soft & Chewy", or "Soft & Nutty/Seedy".
Next comes the hard part....deciding what to put in the bar. It is a little overwhelming, to be honest. I recommend not picking every ingredient you like. Especially if you don't cook often and are not sure what flavors go well with each other.
They have an extensive list of ingredients, including vegan and organic options. There are nut & seeds butters, protein powders, nuts, seeds, dried fruits, "Flavor/Texture Enhancers" (such as Brown Rice Crisps, Cocoa Nibs, Sea Salt, or Vanilla Extract to name a few) and finally "Boosters" (such as Ginger, Chia Powder, Caffeine, etc).
One part of the process that I thought was very cool (and informative), is while you create your bar and add ingredients, you are able to watch your nutrition chart update live on the screen.
The last couple decisions you have to make is what to name your bar and what color you want the packaging to be. This was probably the toughest part for me in all honesty.
In the end, the bars turned out exactly how I imagined and I loved how easy and FUN the process was!
If you have the desire for a bar with specific ingredients, macros, flavors and textures, you HAVE to check out The Bar Shack.

After reading your review, I was wondering if you are still a fan and still ordering the bars.
Thank you for your service as a military wife, thank you for your husband's service, and my prayers and thoughts are with you and your family.

Thank you for such a sweet comment. We appreciate it! Regarding your question about the bars...to be honest, I have been on a kick lately of making my own protein bars. But, I do love the option that The Bar Shack offers and the ability to custom make your own bars.
