Pan Con Tomate is a Spanish tomato toast that is simple, yet incredibly delicious. It's a quick 4 ingredient recipe everyone will love.

Don't let the name fool you into thinking this is a "fancy" recipe. Pan Con Tomate is a popular breakfast recipe in Spain, made with bread, tomatoes, salt and extra virgin olive oil. Such an easy recipe to make...but perfect any time of day! Serve for breakfast, as an appetizer, snack, or side for your next family dinner.

I stumbled upon this recipe mainly because I has some leftover crushed tomatoes that I wanted to use up. Not in the mood for making salsa or tomato sauce, I decided to give Pan Con Tomate a try. Although it is traditionally made with fresh tomatoes, this short cut of using canned (drained) tomatoes, is my new favorite toast recipe. Move over avocado toast! Pan Con Tomate is the new breakfast in town.
WHAT INGREDIENTS DO I NEED FOR PAN CON TOMATE?
- fresh tomatoes or crushed tomatoes (drained)
- olive oil
- sea salt
- preferred rustic bread (I used sourdough)
**The amounts of these ingredients will vary depending on how much bread you use and how much of each ingredient you prefer to use. It's all based on your liking.**

HOW DO I MAKE PAN CON TOMATE?
If you are using fresh tomatoes, grate the tomato using a cheese grater (over a colander) and drain the excess juices. If you are using canned crushed tomatoes, simply open the can and pour the tomatoes into a colander to drain the excess juices.
Toast your preferred bread and top with crushed tomatoes. Drizzle with olive oil and finish with a dash of sea salt. Simple as that!
