I've always been a fan of brussels sprouts. But, I am slowly finding out that there is SERIOUSLY no wrong way to prepare them! They come out delicious roasted, grilled, with dry seasoning or dressings. It's the ultimate versatile veggie!
This recipe for Asian Glazed Brussels Sprouts is my newest creation that I adore. Every bite is full of a TON of flavor.
WHAT INGREDIENTS DO I NEED?
- 3-4 cups Brussels sprouts
- 1-2 tablespoon olive oil
- ½ cup hoisin sauce
- ¼ cup soy sauce, coconut aminos or tamari
- 1 ½ teaspoon ground ginger
- 3-4 chopped green onions
- 1 Tbsp minced garlic
HOW DO I MAKE ASIAN GLAZED BRUSSELS SPROUTS?
Start by preheating your oven to 375 degrees. To prepare the asian brussels sprouts, trim off what remains of the stem and slice each sprout in half (I used approximately 3-4 cups of brussels sprouts). Place them in a single layer on a baking sheet and drizzle with olive oil. Roast the sprouts for approximately 20 minutes, or until they start to get golden brown on the leaves. Stirring half way through.
While the Brussels sprouts are baking, you will create the sauté sauce.
In a small mixing bowl, combine ½ cup hoisin sauce, ¼ cup soy sauce, 1 ½ teaspoon ground ginger, 2-3 chopped green onions and 1 tablespoon minced garlic. Whisk until all ingredients are well integrated.
Once the crispy Brussels sprouts are finished baking, remove the sheet pan from the oven. Place them in a medium-high heat skillet with the glaze. Saute for approximately 2-3 minutes, until they are well coated.
I like to slice a couple more green onions to place on top of the finished sprouts for a little added freshness. You can also add a garnish of sesame seeds, if desired.
If you are a fan of Asian flavors, you will fall in love with these roasted, crispy perfection, glazed Brussels sprouts! It's the vegetable that can do no wrong!
*If you want a little heat to your sprouts, feel free to add a dash of sriracha sauce or chili paste on top.
