Grilled Corn 3 Ways: The perfect side for summer BBQ season!
To be honest, I usually boil my corn. However, there is just something about biting into a juicy, tender, grilled corn-on-the-cob. It just screams summertime! Why not grill outside, eat with your hands and get a little messy?
Next time you are planning a backyard party, try my Grilled Corn 3 Ways! There's more than one way to enjoy it. Don't be safe with butter and salt. Put a twist on the traditional! These toppings are much more delicious.
GRILLED CORN 3 WAYS:
- Honey Jalapeno Butter
- Chili Lime
- Parmesan & Olive Oil
My husband loves to grill! So when he is home and not deployed, I make sure he gets to fire up that grill and cook whatever he wants. It's the least I can do for all the hard work he does for this family and country. Plus, it gives me a break on all the cooking :).
But whatever you do, make sure you have the NEW Kleenex® Wet Wipes Gentle Clean and VIVA® Paper Towels ready! They are must haves for your grilling, BBQ, and picnic needs.
There is seriously no summer-time mess that VIVA® Paper Towels can't handle. They are almost cloth-like. So, don't worry about pouring a little extra sauce on your burgers. Do your thing! Enjoy it!
And if you find yourself enjoying your food a little too much, Kleenex® Wet Wipes Gentle Clean has your back. They are thick, soft and perfect for cleaning your hands and face. Trust me, we can all pretend to be adults and know how to eat "properly". But when summer rolls around and you have the chance to play and eat outside like a kid. Getting messy is part of the equation.
(I found both at Ralph's in the facial tissue/ paper towel aisle).
HOW DO I MAKE GRILLED CORN 3 WAYS?
To create these 3 versions, start by shucking your corn then spray each with non-stick cooking spray. (I used 6 ears of corn, but feel free to use as much as you need.)
Place the corn on your grill over medium heat for approximately 20-30 minutes, turning every 5-8 minutes or so.
While the corn is cooking, you can get your toppings ready:
Honey Jalapeno Butter: Mix together 1 tablespoon butter (salted) with 1 teaspoon honey and 1 ½ teaspoon chopped jalapenos (pickled).
Chili Lime: Juice of 1 lime, 1 teaspoon of chili powder and dash of salt.
Parmesan & Olive Oil: 1 tablespoon olive oil, ½ teaspoon garlic salt and ¼ cup shredded Parmesan cheese.
*Note, you can always add more or less of these toppings base on your preference.
Once the corn is tender and you have desired grilled marks, remove them from the grill and let cool. Top with your desired variations' ingredients and serve!
If you are looking for a tasty summer recipe, this grilled corn is a simple side for any hankering. Enjoy!
