These Homemade Vegan Turtles will become your new favorite treat. Simply incredible.
Nothing beats a homemade dessert, especially one that is simple and cheap. If you are a fan of chocolate, caramel and nuts, this is the recipe for you.
In just a few short steps you will have a treat that is like no other. These Homemade Vegan Turtles are perfect for a party, any holiday or to pack up as a gift. You will never need another box of store bought chocolates again!
WHAT INGREDIENTS DO I NEED?
- 10 medjool dates (pitted)
- 4-5 tablespoon Almond Milk- Vanilla
- dash of salt
- 1 cup pecan halves
- ½ cup chocolate chips or carob chips
These bad boys are ridiculously easy and taste so good! No one will ever know they are vegan.
HOW DO I MAKE HOMEMADE VEGAN TURTLES?
STEP 1: Puree 10 medjool dates in a food processor. (Double check to make sure all the dates are pitted first.)
STEP 2: Add 4-5 tablespoon of Almond Milk (I used the vanilla flavor) and pulse until you have a smooth consistency. This will serve as your smooth and sweet caramel layer.

STEP 3: On a large plate or baking sheet, place your pecan halves a couple inches apart (as many as you want in each turtle). Carefully, spoon the caramel onto each of the pecans and place them in a refrigerator or freezer to set (approximately 30 minutes).

STEP 4: In the microwave or on the stove, slowly melt ½ cup of chocolate chips or carob chips. Once the chocolate is melted, drizzle a small amount over the pecan/dates. Return the turtles to the freezer or refrigerator and let sit for about 1 hr.
Once the turtles have firmed up, place them in an airtight container and keep in refrigerator or freezer until you are ready to eat (which won't be too long I'm sure).
I think I have found the jackpot when it comes to easy, homemade, vegan desserts. These Homemade Vegan Turtles are to die for. Just a few simple ingredients and you have yourself a regret-free, delicious treat.
