Put a little crunch in your next Mexican themed dinner. These Homemade "Hint of Lime" Baked Tortilla Chips are easy, cheap and much lighter than the store bought version. It's a tasty addition everyone will love.

I hate to admit it, but chips are TOTALLY my vice. I can't be left alone with them. If I purchase a bag, my husband and I can easily finish it in one night.
We try not to purchase them too often. We figure, as long as they are not in the house we won't be tempted. Good idea, right? Well...just like everyone else, we start to have a hankering for a crunchy, crispy bite. With a few corn tortillas stashed in our cabinet, I decided to make our own homemade baked tortilla chips.
They hit the spot and because they weren't fried or covered in crazy amounts of salt, we didn't feel guilty about eating them.

WHAT INGREDIENTS DO I NEED?
- Corn tortillas- desired amount
- preferred cooking spray
- 1 teaspoon garlic salt
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 /2 teaspoon cayenne
- Juice of 1 lime

HOW DO I MAKE HOMEMADE BAKED TORTILLA CHIPS?
To create these delicious homemade baked tortilla chips, start by slicing your corn tortillas into 6ths. There is no specific amount, use as many as you want (I used enough to cover 2 large baking sheets).
Spray your baking sheets with cooking spray, then lay the tortillas on top (make sure they do not overlap on each other). Spray the top of the tortillas with additional cooking spray.
Next, top the tortillas with a sprinkle of the following ingredients (feel free to use more or less depending on your preference):
- 1 teaspoon garlic salt
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 /2 teaspoon cayenne
Bake the chips at 375 degrees F for approximately 10-12 minutes, or until they are golden brown. Once they are finished, carefully remove the trays from your oven and top with a squeeze of fresh lime juice.

If you are a chip enthusiast like me, you will love these homemade baked tortilla chips. You can make just as much as you need, instead of buying a jumbo bag from the store. That way you won't feel tempted to eat the entire bag.
It's like they always say, quality is better than quantity!
