Kick your morning into gear with this Vanilla Espresso Protein Smoothie.
Protein is not just for individuals looking to bulk up, but for women, men, endurance athletes and those looking to shed a few pounds.
Including protein in your day to day meals is very important. But for many people there are alot of pending questions regarding protein. How much should I be consuming? When is the best time to consume it for optimal performance/recovery? Is one type of protein better than another? The list could go on and on.
Believe me, I was one of those people who did not quite understand the importance of replenishing my body of protein. But after years of yo-yo dieting, working out to the point of total exhaustion and not seeing the results I wanted, I have learned that protein is the key to building a stronger, leaner body.
Everyone has their own way of getting protein; animals, plants or supplements. I like to use protein powder simply because it is an easy way to make sure I get my daily amount. You can mix it with water (or your favorite beverage) to enjoy as a meal replacement or add it to your favorite snack recipe to boost the protein value.

Whey protein is one of the most popular powders available. It is easily digested by the body and best consumed right after a workout, when your muscles need the extra nutrition to help recovery and growth. It can also aid with weight management.
It's great for not only a recovery drink, but as breakfast, lunch or a snack to keep you satisfied.

I was recently turned on to EAS® 100% Whey Protein Powder. EAS has definitely uped their game with the new and improved formula. 30g of protein in each serving and no added sugar or unnecessary fillers. What I especially like about it is that both the chocolate and vanilla flavors taste great.
We all know how hard it can be to find a protein powder that is actually enjoyable and doesn't taste horrible or clump up in your shaker cup. The best part is that you can find this powder at your local Walmart store.

I love vanilla flavor in my coffee, so this sounds great! Plus it will have a good amount of protein to help keep me full.

what is the nutritional value of this?
Julie says
Hi Judy! Thanks for the message. This recipe has approximately 230 calories, 2.9 grams of fat, 31.3 grams of carbs, 14.4 grams of protein and 15.4 grams of sugar (approximately 14 grams of that is natural sugar from the banana). These numbers can vary slightly depending on the type of almond milk you choose to use (reduced sugar, flavored, or original). Let me know if you have any other questions 🙂

You said above that there was 30g of protein in each serving, but then in this answer to a question when you gave the nutritional breakdown you said there were 14g of protein. Where did the other 16 g go?
Julie says
Hi Pauline, sorry for any confusion. As stated on the EAS protein packaging, one serving (2 scoops) is 30g. I only used 1 scoop in my recipe.
