{Gluten Free} Buttermilk Biscuits: A fluffy and flaky biscuit recipe that can't be beat!
Growing up in Texas you learn that biscuits are always at your table. No matter which meal is being served. Biscuits are eaten at breakfast, lunch, and dinner (and let's be real...as a snack, too). It's a homemade southern staple!
This, my friends, is one delicious homemade biscuit, and I’m so excited to share the recipe with you today. It's everything a biscuit should be and more!
What ingredients do I need?
- All-purpose gluten free flour
- Baking powder
- Salt
- Butter
- Buttermilk

How to make Gluten Free Buttermilk Biscuits:
Step 1: Preheat oven to 425 degrees F.
Step 2: Whisk together dry ingredients.
Step 3: Using a pastry cutter or knife, cut the butter into small pieces. Mix the butter into the dry ingredients, until pea sized clumps form.
Step 4: Add buttermilk and mix gently.
Step 5: Roll the dough out on a floured surface. Fold the dough into thirds. Repeat 1 or 2 times more.
Step 6: Cut biscuits using biscuit cutter, cookie cutter or cup.
Step 7: Transfer to baking sheet and bake for about 12-15 minutes, or until golden brown.
Now here is the difficult part.....Do you slather with butter on top, or do you just spread with butter once you open these biscuits up? OR, do you do both?

- ½ cup butter - cold
- 1 cup buttermilk
Instructions
