Compound Basil Butter: a blend of butter with fresh herbs, garlic and Parmesan cheese. The BEST way to add bold flavor to the simplest dishes.
Recently, I found myself with a lot of extra basil. FRESH basil. When this happens, without fail, I make a batch of pesto and my Homemade Kale Pesto. But this time, I STILL had some left over...so I decided to make some of this delicious Compound Basil Butter.
Compound butters are amazing on baked potatoes, spread on breads and melted over any meats or fish. I also love to add them to sauces, vegetables, rice or pasta.
They can pretty much be used on anything!
Did I mention compound butters are freezer-friendly. Make as much as you want and freeze for the future!
