WHAT ARE POT STICKERS/ PAN FRIED DUMPLINGS?
Pot stickers are “steam-fried” dumplings, meaning they are lightly browned in oil first before being steamed. They are made with wonton wrappers and stuffed with fillings, traditionally pork and cabbage. But today, we are making a vegetarian version.
Forget that take out menu or frozen bag of dumplings! With just one bite you’ll wonder why you’ve waited so long to make a homemade version.

WHAT INGREDIENTS DO I NEED FOR PAN FRIED VEGETABLE DUMPLINGS?
- 1 cup chopped mushrooms
- 2 cups shredded Napa cabbage
- 1 egg
- ½ teaspoon dry ginger
- 2-3 chopped green onions
- 2 teaspoon soy sauce
- 1 teaspoon toasted sesame oil
- wonton wrappers
- 4 tablespoon vegetable oil
HOW DO I MAKE PAN FRIED VEGETABLE DUMPLINGS?
STEP 1: In a large bowl, combine mushrooms, cabbage and green onions.
STEP 2: Mix in egg, ginger, soy sauce and sesame oil, until everything is well combined.
STEP 3: Pour a small amount of water in a bowl for you to use while assembling the dumplings.
STEP 4: To prepare the dumplings, spoon a small amount of the cabbage mixture in the center of your wonton wrapper. Wet the edges of the wrapper with some water, fold the sides up and pinch together to create a little package.
STEP 5: In a large skillet, begin to heat vegetable oil. Add your dumplings and cook for 1-2 minutes or until the bottom is browned.
STEP 6: Quickly and carefully add enough water to half the height of the dumplings. Immediately cover the pan to steam the dumplings. **There will be splattering, due to the oil and water combining. Be sure to cover as quickly as possible.
STEP 7: Steam for 3-4 minutes. Remove from heat and let them continue to cook for another 2-3 minutes in the pan.
STEP 8: Remove from pan and serve with your favorite Asian dipping sauce.
